The Mirror Method

Your Shadow Reading

A reading that looks underneath what you already know about yourself.

What is shadow work?

The psychiatrist Carl Jung used the word shadow for the parts of ourselves we push out of sight. The feelings, needs and habits we learned were not welcome.

They do not disappear. They show up in our reactions, in the patterns we repeat, and in what gets under our skin about other people.

"When an inner situation is not made conscious, it happens outside, as fate."Carl Jung, Aion, 1951

Why it is worth doing

When you can see a pattern, you can choose what to do with it. Shadow work turns what has been running you from underneath into something you can use.

It is not about finding what is wrong with you. It is about meeting the parts of you that have been waiting to be heard.

Before we begin

This is a reading, not therapy. You set the pace. If anything feels like too much, say so and we will slow down or stop.

Take a moment to settle.

Step one

Choose where to look

Not the one you think you should pick. The one that feels loudest right now. Choose one.
